History

The Locanda Casa Motta is a ninetennh-century farmhouse pleasantly restored and characterized by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, wich recline perfectly in the gentle surrounding river landscape. The two chefs, father and son, offer guests the best specialities of traditional emilian cuisine, choosing only fresh and genuine ingredients.

The charateristic guest-house, located in the area know as “la Bassa”, near the Po river and Brescello, a famous village for the deeds of Don Camillo and Mayor Peppone, is a charming family- run restaurant but also a confortable three-star hotel.

The Locanda Casa Motta restaurant, with is typical dishes of emilian cuisine, over the years has always been highly appreciated by food and wine critics and also reported in the Slow Food guide Osterie d’Italia. In addition, the rustic and elegant style of the hotel has earned him numerous quotes in newspaper and magazines, such as La Stampa, Meridiani, Verde Oggi, Il Bello e il Buono d’Italia, Vita di Campagna.

The atmosphere

Choosing to stay at our hotel, you can visit historic cities such as Mantova and Sabbioneta, called the “little Athens”. You can visit well-know museums such as the Don Camillo and Peppone a famous museum in Brescello; the Cervi museum in Gattatico; the museum of Pontieri, the museum about Navigation and the river port in Boretto. Also, in the city of Gualtieri, you can admire the works of the famous painter Ligabue at the museum dedicated to him.

The rooms of the delightful three-star hotel have been created from the hayloft of the farmhouse and maintain that rustic atmosphere but full of heat that distinguishes the entire structure. Around it extends a beautiful garden with playground, beloved by adults and children, perfect for letting your animal friends than thay can play freely. Naturally, the structure isalso equipped to accomodate guests with disabilities
